LOVE our Harrens!!!

Best Friends!

Not everyone is lucky enough to have a best friend.  Fortunately, I do!  I have the BEST!  Katie and the kids came to visit us this past weekend, and we had so much fun.  It always amazes me that we can pick up right where we left off, even if we haven't seen each other for a year.  I cherish our time together, love watching Ry and Ashlyn's relationship evolve over the years, love watching CJ and Ben figure each other out and take turns being 2 ;), staying up late, talking, and just being.  The kids played hard for 3.5 straight days and we also threw in a 5.5 birthday party for Rylan!  It took us a couple of days to recover, but it was well worth it!  I'm so blessed to have her a part of my life.  Love you Katie!

This was MY outfit as a little girl!

Callie Jae looked adorable in this! She loves hanging out with Ashlyn, as much as I love hanging out with my bestie Katie. It's so fun to have them here!

Fun times!

I haven't been to a concert IN YEARS with a group of girls! What a fun time and awesome show.

And a funny thing...I haven't been to a concert in the era of cell phones used to light up the crowd! Owl City, one of the opening bands, sang their song Fireflies. It was very cool!

Maroon 5

So excited!

Woo hoo!

The cast is off and Callie Jae used her arm more and more throughout the day. She seems to be a little stiff and sore, but all good otherwise! Here is a picture of Rylan and Ezra waiting patiently in the waiting room watching Wreck it Ralph. I found it very funny that they decided to squeeze into the same chair :-)!

In case you didn't know...

what a nursemaids elbow was.

He he...

More rodeo!

This cracked me up!

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

The 3 week long event is a big deal around here. There is a HUGE carnival, tons of food, livestock show, and a rodeo with a big name concert each night. We got to go see Tim McGraw, thanks to Shell Oil Comp. ticket club lottery system. J gets weekly emails and can put his name in for discounted tickets. The seats were amazing!

We had fun trying to be "Texan" for a night. I was cracking up at the announcer as we were leaving the stadium. He said, "remember two things: God bless America and God bless Texas." Only in Texas!

The Midwestern girl in me has been fighting Texas lately ;)!

Texting funny faces to each other!

Your a mean one Mr. Grinch

Yankee game fun and VIP treatment!

The boys!

Rylan and his best buddy Ezra had a half day today. Ezra always comes home with us on Wednesdays so today they get extra play time. It's a beautiful 62 degree, windless, day, so we brought inside toys out to play with. Fun fun!

Result

A trip to the orthopedic office and a purple cast is the final result. The doctor was pretty sure that is was nursemaids elbow and said that putting a cast on the arm for a couple of weeks should strengthen the ligaments to hopefully prevent it from happening a fourth time. We've always said CJ would have the first cast. She chose purple and is pretty proud of it. Jason asked her if her arm felt better and her response was "no boo boo." Yay for Dr. Harry and Texas Children's, not to mention great health insurance that made this very painless and easy!

Ohhhh Callie Jae.

So I think Callie Jae has nursemaids elbow again. At gymnastics this morning she was hanging from the rings and let one go with her left-hand. My right hand was covering her right hand so for about a couple seconds she was hanging from the right ring with her arm.

We went straight to Dr. Harry's office. He tried three times to pop it back into place but no luck. X-rays showed no fractures. So he sent us home to see if she would get any better throughout the day. She passed out in the car on the way home and when she woke up from her nap it is not any better.

Dr. Harry has called and the plan is to try again in the morning and if that doesn't work where we have an appointment with an orthopedist.

Fun times!

She did it again...
